Coaching positions with a girls club volleyball program in Sonoma County, for the 2026-2027 season. Here’s what you’d be signing up for.

What’s the job?
Coaching girls club volleyball, part-time and seasonal, in Sonoma County, California. We’re hiring for three roles: Head Coach, Assistant Coach, and Volunteer Coach (Intern).
What’s the commitment?
- Season
- Mid-October tryouts through May.
- Practices
- Two per week, weeknights. RallyHouse, Rohnert Park.
- Tournaments
- One or two weekends a month, most within a few hours’ drive. Some teams compete in Reno and Las Vegas.
What would I actually do?
If most of this sounds like something you’d do anyway, you’re probably our kind of coach.
Develop players
Run structured practices. Build a game plan for each match. Give honest, specific feedback.
Build culture
You set the tone. No favorites, no drama. Players should want to win, respect the other side, and feel safe trying something new.
Grow the program
Help recruit players and give them a reason to come back in October. Scrimmage and run clinics with the other AVC teams. Share competition successes and team photos for the club website and social media.
Show up
Be present and on time for every practice and tournament.
Who are you looking for?
We’re looking for the coach who notices the quiet player in the back row. The one who shows up with a plan. Someone whose players walk off the court loving this sport more than when they walked on.
You don’t need to check every box, but the more of these that sound like you, the better.
- You know the game well, from playing it, coaching it, or both
- Experience coaching ages 9–18
- Strong communication: written, verbal, and the kind that happens in a loud gym
- Good instincts if things get heated. Parents, players, close calls. You stay calm
- You can work on your own and adapt when plans change mid-tournament
- Reliable transportation and a valid license. Insurance required if you’ll transport players
- You know how a club season runs, or you’re willing to learn: leagues, qualifiers, brackets
- Organized with rosters, schedules, and parent communication
- Physically able to be in the gym for every practice and a full tournament weekend
- Fresh ideas welcome. If you’ve seen something work elsewhere, bring it
