Philosophy

“Just as important as learning how to hit a ball is learning where and why to hit it. All things equal, the smarter player usually wins. Play hard, have fun, but always be smart.”

— Jaime Powell

Biography

Jaime played outside hitter and defense specialist from junior high through college, along with adult rec leagues. She brings a game-smart approach to coaching. She believes that just as important as learning how to hit a ball is learning where and why to hit it a certain way.

Her coaching resume spans CYO, McKinley PACS, Novato High School (freshman and JV), and St. Vincent’s High School. She’s been with Aftershock since 2021. She earned All Conference honors in high school and was named MVP at St. Mary’s College her junior year.

What she likes best about coaching is seeing players have those “ah ha” moments, watching them progress over a season, and of course learning all the new dances, slang, and cool things kids care about.

She has a dog named Lollipop and a new kitten named Little. And if she were an animal, she’d want to be a dolphin.
